This process provides rCSP at high yields without the need for denaturing and refolding the protein. The present invention overcomes obstacles previously encountered in the field, including dimerization, aggregation, and N-terminal degradation of rCSP.

Monothioglycerol is a thiol that is glycerol in which one of the primary hydroxy groups is replaced by a thiol group. It has a role as a vulnerary and a reducing agent. It is a thiol and a member of propane-1,2-diols.

Standard dosing regimen: initial intravenous bolus dose of 6.5 mg/kg ... are highly protein bound (approximately 98%), primarily to albumin.
