SURAT CHEMICAL TAG::
RXSOL Wax Dispersant Rx is a solvent based blend of anionic and non-ionic surfactants designed to disperse sludge deposits found within crude oil storage vessels, pipelines and well tubulars. RXSOL Wax Dispersant Rx when mixed and circulated with hydrocarbon sludge, will aid in converting the sludge back into a marketable crude oil. Typical sludge deposits are composed of a mixture of waxes, asphaltenes, water, light hydrocarbons and solids. RXSOL Wax Dispersant Rx acts to disrupt paraffin micelles that constitute the major source of viscosity for most typical hydrocarbon sludges
Features and Advantages
- Permits the recovery of Crude oil from tank Bottom Sludges
- Acts a pour point inhibitor for some waxy crudes.
- Promotes solids settling and demulsification.
- Contains no products detrimental to refinery operations.
Typical Physical Properties
Appearance | :Yellow Liquid |
Specific Gravity | : 0.8 at 15.5 °C |
Flash Point | : 65°C |
pH | : Not applicable |
Freeze Point | : -20°C |
Ionic | : Character Anionic |
Specifically designed to prevent wax and paraffin deposition, RXSOL Wax Dispersant Rx keeps them dispersed preventing downstream plugging of flowlines and formations. This unique and innovative surfactant blend also enhances penetration of existing deposits aiding in their removal.
Tank cleaning operation
Slack Wax (Cleaning procedure)
(Paraffin with a high oil content and a high melting point)
-
Steam the tank for approx. 1-1, 5 hour. The temperature should be at least 20°C above the melting point of the slack wax.
-
Butterworth the tank 1-1, 5 hour directly after steaming with hot seawater or hot fresh water.Let the water flow on deck until the required temperature has been reached. The temperature during the cleaning should be 20°C. above the melting point of the wax. The cleaning time should be sufficiently long to reach the melting point of the wax.
-
Due not interrupt the cleaning process and continue to Butterworth the tank with hotseawater or freshwater for another hour and inject the RXSOL-20-2044-210 (see method 3).Therefore mix the RXSOL-20-2044-210 into a drum with water (1 to 2 pails/100 litres water) and inject the mixture simultaneously into the Butterworth line during cleaning. The necessary amount to be injected depends on the consumption and number of Butterworth machines.Calculate for 10-15 m3 of wash water 1 pail of RXSOL-20-2044-210
-
Flush the tank with fresh water
- Ventilate, mop and dry the tank.
Note: during cleaning there should be no ballast water adjacent to the tank
RXSOL Wax Dispersant is typically applied at concentrations of 250 –1000 ppm. It can be added directly to the sludge, but it is more typically used in combination with a diluent such as a light naphtha, crude oil or aromaticsolvent. The resulting mixture is circulated for several hours until all of the sludge has been dispersed. The circulation is then stopped and the solids and water allowed to settle. The clean crude can then be pumped out of the vessel.
RXSOL Wax Dispersant can be combined with Rxsol PPD depending on composition of the deposit to achieve maximum effectiveness.
